Antique Mirror & Picture Frame Restoration
Alongside our silvering workshop, the conservation and restoration of antique mirrors and picture frames is one of our core specialities. We work on decorative surfaces including gilt, polychrome, oriental lacquer and japanned finishes.
The Rough Old Glass workshop uses traditional methods to conserve and restore mirror and picture frames, as well as other gilded and lacquered objects. We carry out structural repairs, consolidation and the careful refinishing of gilt and decorative surfaces to bring each piece back to life while respecting its age and character.

Due to the volume of enquiries, we cannot offer free valuations for antique pieces and our minimum fee for restoration projects is £250 + VAT.
