Verre églomisé is the technique of gilding the reverse of glass. Shown here on clear glass with real silver leaf. We can also gild onto hand drawn, textured and tinted glass and we can use many different shades of gold, silver and other metal leaves, leaving them solid or rubbing through to create an aged look.
Individual silver leaves measure approximately 90 x 90mm and are laid in a grid pattern.
The silver leaf on clear finish presents as a delicate silvered mirror finish with feint leaf lines where the leaves are overlapped. If you require a more distressed finish please select our Silver Leaf on Clear Weathered finish.

We deliver our Antiqued Mirror Glass Panels, Framed Mirrors & Original Antique Mirrors Worldwide.
Samples are shipped via DPD.
In the UK, we have a weekly van run from Devon to London and back. If your address is on our route our driver will deliver your panels or framed mirrors unwrapped as they're safely loaded and transported on a specialist glass frail.
For those further afield we wrap in recyclable corrugated Kraft with specially engineered cardboard edge protection and send via a specialist mirror logistics company.
Oversized and international shipments are crated and dispatched in bespoke wooden, lined crates via a fully insured courier network.
Worldwide deliveries are crated and sent via air or road freight.
Incoterms: DAP (Delivered At Place) / DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid). Rough Old Glass can arrange shipping for your order but, as the customer, you will be liable to pay any import costs, such as VAT, duties and clearing fees, where applicable.
Drivers will require assistance to unload large or heavy deliveries to a ground floor location for all deliveries - if this may pose a problem for you, please do let us know so we can help with alternative arrangements.
